PITTSBURGH, PA – Leech Tishman, a full-service law firm in Pittsburgh, PA, is pleased to announce its fundraising efforts for the 2016 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh (“BBBS”) Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising campaign, an annual fundraising initiative hosted by and in support of BBBS. Leech Tishman raised more funds than any other law firm in Greater Pittsburgh, collecting over $8,700 through a series of fundraising events this spring.
On May 6, 2016, Leech Tishman attorneys held the championship match of the company-wide ping-pong tournament in support of BBBS. The tournament was one of several fundraising events that the firm participated in to support “Bowl for Kids’ Sake,” which was kicked off on March 31, when attorneys created bowling teams and participated in a “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” bowling event. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh hosted several bowling events throughout March and April, and fundraising for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake initiative continues until June 1, 2016.
“This year marks the 14th consecutive year that Leech Tishman has participated in Bowl for Kids’ Sake,” said partner Steve Irwin, who became involved with BBBS 39 years ago. “It’s been really fun to watch our children—and ourselves—change over time. When you look at the group pictures, and the bowling team pictures, they act as a wonderful chronological narrative of how we’ve matured over the years.” Steve Irwin also continues to support BBBS as a Board Member.
This year, seven Leech Tishman teams, for a total of 35 bowlers, participated in Bowl for Kids’ Sake. A big thank you to the teams and their captains:
- Deb’s Docket Rockets led by Debra Stevenson
- Dream Team led by Emily Seelman
- Elena’s Team led by Elena Nola
- Kate’s Team led by Kate Comstock
- LT Strikers led by Liselle Konig
- Steve’s Jungle led by Steve Irwin
- We’ve Been Framed led by April Drap
“Every year, we blow away all the other law firms, in participation and in the level of giving,” Irwin added. “This year, in addition to the bowling event, the firm hosted a company-wide ping-pong tournament that started in April and culminated in a Final Four and Championship round on May 6. We are so proud of our firm’s dedication to this cause.”
