PITTSBURGH, PA – August 22, 2016 – Leech Tishman is pleased to announce that Zachary J. Mastren and Emily E. Seelman have joined the firm. Zach has joined Leech Tishman as Counsel in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights, Corporate and Internal Investigations Practice Groups. Emily has joined the firm as an Associate in the Litigation and Employment Practice Groups.
Zach will focus his practice on commercial and consumer bankruptcy matters. Zach represents commercial debtors, secured creditors, landlords and trustees in both chapter 7 and chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. He also represents creditors’ committees and prosecutes and defends preference and fraudulent transfer actions. In addition, Zach represents individual debtors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
Zach also serves as Counsel at Guidepost Solutions, a corporate investigations provider that he worked for full-time before joining Leech Tishman. Through Guidepost, Zach continues to serve as an investigator on a monitor team appointed to oversee General Motors’ adherence to a deferred prosecution agreement. Before becoming an attorney, Zach served as a relationship manager with Confluence Technologies, Inc. and also as an investment accountant with PNC Financial Services Group, where he accounted for hedge funds in excess of $100 million for boutique hedge fund clients.
Emily will focus her practice primarily on commercial litigation matters. She is experienced in assisting with cases involving a variety of litigation matters including medical malpractice, breach of contract, negligence, tax exemption claims, bankruptcy, corporate liability and property disputes.
Emily started her career with Leech Tishman as a law clerk while she attended law school at the Duquesne University School of Law. During law school, Emily served as Associate Editor for the Duquesne Law Review, was a three-year recipient of a merit scholarship and won a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Expert Evidence. As a law student, Emily was a member of the Urban Development Practicum and served as a Student Liaison for the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Women in the Law Division and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She was also a member of the Christian Legal Society where she served as Vice President and Secretary. Also while at law school, Emily completed a clerkship with The Honorable John Zottola of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, Orphans’ Court Division, and interned with the Honorable Patricia McCullough of Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court as well as the Ohio Township Police Department.
