The Harvard Business Review  examined the conventional compensation methods used by companies to motivate salespeople.  While there are many methods, executives are often unsure of which models are the most effective.  Based on the results of their experiment, the HBR determined that sales force compensation is an issue which requires decisions based on hard, quantitative data instead of intuition and conventional wisdom.
