Deadline Approaching for Unemployment Tax Amnesty Program

By: William A. Buck, Esq.

Time is running out to take advantage of a Pennsylvania amnesty program that provides financial relief to employers facing penalties and interest for certain unpaid unemployment taxes or unfiled unemployment tax quarterly reports. Pennsylvania will waive one half of the interest and/or penalties applied to an employer’s outstanding unemployment tax liabilities.

To apply for the program, employers must complete an application which includes copies of all unfiled quarterly reports, payment of the underlying liabilities in full, and payment of one half of the applicable interest and penalties.

The deadline to file an application is August 31, 2013.

Please contact William A. Buck to discuss qualification for the amnesty program as soon as possible.
