Winter Career Talk: Chemistry to Patent Law

Intellectual Property Associate, Charles M. Yeomans, will be speaking at the Greater Pittsburgh Younger Chemists Committee (“YCC”) of the Pittsburgh Section of the American Chemical Society “Career Talks Series” tomorrow evening at the Mellon Institute. The talk will be focused on the use of Chuck’s chemical background in a field outside of academia or industrial lab research. Chuck will also give a general overview of intellectual property law and ways to protect it.
About the “Career Talk Series”
A degree in chemistry can get YOU into a career beyond just academia or industry! Our speaker for this quarter’s Career Talk Series is patent lawyer, Charles Yeomans. Charles received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry before working as research chemist at Pressure Chemical Company in Pittsburgh. Charles then decided to pursue a career in law – he attended Pitt Law and became a patent lawyer. Come learn about Charles’s transition from chemistry to law! Light refreshments will be provided.
