Collections Specialist
Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl, LLC is currently recruiting for a Collections Specialist to join the Finance Department of our Pittsburgh, PA office. This position will support collections/accounts receivable activities and ensure accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize in-house accounts receivable program (ProLaw) for collection activities. Monitor system activities and resolve system problems as needed.
- Field incoming calls from clients regarding billing or payment issues.
- Create statements of account to help pinpoint any account issues.
- Research and provide any documentation which will help resolve client account issues.
- Review and identify aged receivable balances.
- Follow up, action and document overdue and difficult to collect accounts.
- Interact with Firm clients to facilitate timely payments.
- Negotiate a compromised payment and, if needed, coordinate collection assistance with third party affiliates.
- Work with billing specialists to utilize ProLaw billing system to create statements/reports.
- Check e-billing sites to ensure all bills are submitted and moving through the approval process.
- Provide information to Firm attorneys on the status of their client’s accounts receivables.
- Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent accounting experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a collections/billing specialist in a private law firm setting.
- Proficient in Excel and ProLaw.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent basic math skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must have good command of the English language, oral and written.
- Ability to work and interact with all practice groups and firm locations.
- Ability to work in a strong team environment.

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- The successful candidate will have experience/knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and financial software.
