Healthcare Chair and firm Partner Harry J. Nelson was recently interviewed on KNX News to discuss the potential implications of a proposed $1.1 trillion cut to federal spending on Medicaid, Medicare, and Obamacare. If the bill passes, Nelson says, “The loss of funding is going to put more pressure on employer based healthcare and on all commercial insurance, and we’re going to see the prices of healthcare go up for everybody else in all likelihood.”
Nelson also discusses the potential impacts on people in California, noting that, “We’re going to see very deep cuts that are going to either force the state to raise funds, whether by taxes or otherwise, to cover a bigger percentage of it, or just to engage in its own cuts on programs.”
