In the article, Nelson explains how Amgen’s new facility in Thousand Oaks, CA, reflects a broader trend of expanding domestic pharmaceutical operations.
“We are seeing federal and state governments offering targeted tax and investment incentives to attract this industry, tipping the balance in favor of building at home rather than abroad,” Nelson said.
He also discusses the both upsides, including the creation of jobs, and potential downsides, such as concerns about rising drug prices, of this shift toward domestic pharmaceutical production.
