PITTSBURGH, PA – March 25, 2020 – Leech Tishman is pleased to announce that Government Relations Group partner, Steven D. Irwin, was recently selected to serve as a Selection Day Judge for Coro Pittsburgh’s 2020-21 Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs Class.
Steven D. Irwin is a Partner with Leech Tishman and Chair of the firm’s Government Relations Group. He is also a member of the Corporate, Employment & Labor and Litigation Practice Groups. Irwin is based in the Pittsburgh office, where he handles business matters, routinely interacts with government bodies and counsels high-level management, defending against or asserting allegations of fraudulent conduct.
Each year, Coro Pittsburgh recruits 12 young professionals for its Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs. These fellows undergo a rigorous, nine-month, experiential learning process where they learn to lead and collaborate across sectors and boundaries and produce solutions to complex problems. Coro Pittsburgh initiated this Fellowship in 1999.
On Saturday, March 7, 2020, Irwin convened with a diverse group of civic leaders in the Pittsburgh region to serve as judges for the potential Fellowship candidates. The daylong selection process, held at Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, included simulated group exercises and individual interviews where judges observed and interacted with 36 finalists chosen from a very competitive national pool. The judges assessed each candidate’s leadership potential, intellect, character, experience, and commitment to public service.
