Patrick Carothers is recognized for the third time in the Bankruptcy and Creditors – Debtor Rights Law / Insolvency and Reorganization Law category. Pat routinely represents businesses in various stages of financial restructurings- from out-of-court workouts to court monitored processes, including Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations. Patrick represents clients in bankruptcy courts throughout the country, including numerous matters in Delaware, New Jersey and the Southern District of New York. He currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights and Corporate Practice Groups.
Sally Griffith Cimini is recognized for a 12th year in the Employment Law – Management, Litigation – Labor & Employment, and Mediation categories. She has also been selected as the 2020 Best Lawyers Pittsburgh Mediator of the Year. Sally has over 34 years of experience devoted exclusively to counseling and litigating on behalf of private and public sector employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring through termination and is highly regarded for her experience in the areas of employment law and alternative dispute resolution. Sally serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. For many years, Sally also previously served on the firm’s Management Committee and Chair of the firm’s Employment & Labor Group.
Pete Fuscaldo is recognized for an 11th year in the Corporate Law and Tax Law categories. He represents diverse, established, and emerging privately-held companies, often serving as general business counsel in both day-to-day legal matters and strategic transactions. Pete provides counsel on a full range of complex business issues. He advises clients on matters related to entity formation and operation, the tax and legal structure of business acquisitions and dispositions, corporate finance matters, venture capital funding, and private equity transactions. Pete counsels businesses on multifaceted restructuring and recapitalization transactions involving both debt and equity. He has a deep understanding of financial accounting, as well as business and tax law, which allows him to be creative in finding solutions to otherwise challenging deals. Pete is the firm’s managing partner, serves on the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of Leech Tishman’s Corporate, Taxation and Construction Practice Groups in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
Heather Heidelbaugh has been recognized in the Government Relations Practice category for a second year. An experienced trial lawyer, Heather has handled a wide variety of litigation matters for businesses and individuals. Heather focuses her practice on all types of litigation. She is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America, a national legal honorary society. Heather is a well-known public commentator on issues related to politics, law and elections. She appears frequently on local television and radio regarding public affairs in Pittsburgh, and has been quoted by a number of national and local television shows and publications. Heather also served on the Allegheny County Council as an At-Large Member. Heather is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
David Lampl is recognized for an 11th year in the Bankruptcy and Creditor – Debtor Rights Law / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation – Bankruptcy categories. David is highly regarded for the major role he has played in numerous local and national high-profile cases involving Chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings. Over the course of his career, David has served as lead counsel on behalf of banks, creditors’ committees and debtor companies in a wide variety of complex bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters. David previously served as Co-Chair of Leech Tishman’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group for many years.
Fred Leech is recognized for a seventh year in the Banking and Finance Law and Corporate Law categories. He focuses on providing legal advisory services to business clients on acquisition transactions, securities matters and financings. Fred has served as lead or co-lead legal counsel on a number of significant acquisition transactions, including:
- Stock sale of a leading provider of software designed to generate dynamic reporting from enterprise resource planning platforms.
- Representation of a national real estate private equity company in connection with the acquisition of multi-family assets in select U.S. markets utilizing general solicitation private placement exemptions authorized under Rule 506(c) of Regulation D.
- Representation of Mellon Financial Corporation in the combination with The Bank of New York Corporation to form The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
- Sale by Mellon Financial Corporation of its retail bank to Citizens Financial.
- Acquisition by Northill Capital (London) of a majority equity interest in Riverbridge Partners (US-based investment adviser).
Fred regularly assists clients in capital markets transactions. Representative transactions include the issuance of equity securities in connection with the acquisition of multi-family assets in select U.S. markets utilizing general solicitation private placement exemptions authorized under the JOBS Act. He also regularly represents SEC and state registered investment advisers in regulatory, compliance and acquisition matters. Fred previously served as Chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in Leech Tishman’s Pittsburgh office and also on the firm’s Management Committee.
Danton Mak is recognized for a seventh year in the Litigation – Patent Law category. Danton is experienced in industry, management and the law. His influence extends beyond the United States, and Hong Kong where he was born and raised, to Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China. Danton’s insight, knowledge, experience and contacts throughout the U.S. and the Far East have proven invaluable to clients seeking to establish ventures or business operations at home or abroad. Vincent Oleszkiewicz is recognized in the Environmental Law and Litigation – Environmental categories. Vince focuses his practice in the area of environmental law, including all aspects of domestic and international environmental regulation, permitting and compliance, advising clients on environmental issues in real estate transactions, dispute resolution and corporate transactional matters. Vince is a Partner in the Environmental Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office.
John Steiner is recognized for a fourth year in the Bankruptcy and Creditor – Debtor Rights Law / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation – Bankruptcy categories. John represents and provides advice and counsel to creditors, debtors, creditors’ committees, lenders, bankruptcy trustees and purchasers of assets in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, state court receiverships and other insolvency proceedings. He also represents and provides advice to both debtors and creditors in out-of-court workouts and restructurings. Over the course of his career, John has represented and assisted numerous creditors in the collection of debts from the filing of actions to obtain judgment, to enforcement and execution. John was lead debtor’s counsel in the successful Chapter 11 reorganization of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Pittsburgh’s professional soccer team, and its stadium, Highmark Stadium. Recently, John was selected to represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Somerset Regional Water Resources, LLC Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case. John currently serves as Chief Operational Officer of Leech Tishman. He previously served as Co-Chair of Leech Tishman’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group for many years. Alan Towner is recognized for an 11th year in the Copyright Law, Litigation – Intellectual Property, Litigation- Patent, Patent Law and Trademark Law categories. Alan focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. He regularly handles matters including preparing and prosecuting patent, trademark and copyright applications, patentability opinions, patent infringement and validity studies, trademark clearance opinions, patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation, and general intellectual property counseling. Alan began his career as a Patent Examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in mechanical areas of technology. He also has experience as a research associate and patent attorney in the aerospace industry, where he handled diverse technologies including metal alloys, composites and ceramics. In private practice since 1992, Alan has dealt with a broad range of technologies in the chemical, material, medical, mechanical, data storage, electronic devices and nano-technology areas. Alan serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office and is also a member of the Litigation Practice Group.
David Weicht is recognized in Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Insurance categories. Dave has handled a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters as an experienced litigator and across a wide range of industries for over 20 years. His practice includes representation of both businesses and individuals in disputes involving complex contract issues, corporate ownership, business acquisitions, oil and gas, bankruptcy, estates and trusts, insurance coverage, real estate and civil rights. Dave serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
Wesley Yang is recognized for a ninth year in the Tax Law category. Wesley is well known for his experience in complex corporate and tax law matters. As a tax attorney and Certified Public Accountant, Wesley has more than 40 years of broad experience in estate planning and administration, asset protection planning, corporate and partnership taxation, international taxation, captive insurance companies and management succession planning for closely held businesses. He specializes in the areas of income tax and estate planning for high net worth individuals and owners of closely held businesses. Wesley is Chair of the firm’s Taxation Practice Group. James Hendricks is recognized for an 11th year in the Employment Law- Management and Labor Law – Management categories. Jim focuses his practice on traditional labor law, employment, and wage and hour litigation. Jim has spent his entire career defending employers exclusively in all facets of labor and employment law, including National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Labor Relations cases, collective bargaining, ERISA for M&A processes, 3201 issues, unfunded pension liability cases and wage and hour issues. James serves as Counsel in the Employment Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office.
Jim is experienced in labor and employment litigation analysis and defense, as well as providing advice and counsel to operations and human resource executives on a variety of issues regarding the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures, labor and employment issues involved in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, personnel transactions, and preventive labor and employment strategies and training.
Bob Schroeder is recognized for a 15th year in the Litigation-Intellectual Property Law, Litigation-Patent Law, Patent Law and Trademark Law categories. Bob has been a patent litigator for more than 30 years. He has been lead counsel in patent cases, as well as trade secret, trademark, copyright, unfair competition and trade dress cases, and has handled IP arbitrations before domestic and international tribunals. He is experienced in appeals before various circuit courts of appeal and has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. Bob regularly advises clients on patent infringement matters, licensing agreements and intellectual property acquisitions. In addition, he supervises patent prosecution and maintenance programs and counsels clients as to intellectual property generally. Prior to joining Leech Tishman in 2014, Bob was a partner at SMA. Bob is a member of Leech Tishman’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Los Angeles office and focuses his practice on patent litigation.
