Leech Tishman Lawyers Recognized in Best Lawyers of America 2018 Edition

Sally Griffith Cimini is recognized for a ninth year in the Employment Law – Management, Litigation – Labor & Employment and Mediation categories. Sally has over 30 years of experience devoted exclusively to counseling and litigating on behalf of private and public sector employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring through termination and is highly regarded for her experience in the areas of employment law and alternative dispute resolution. Sally serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Employment Practice Groups in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. For many years, Sally also served on the firm’s Management Committee.
Pete Fuscaldo is recognized for an eighth year in the Corporate Law and Tax Law categories. He represents diverse, established, and emerging privately-held companies, often serving as general business counsel in both day-to-day legal matters and strategic transactions. Pete provides counsel on a full range of complex business issues. He advises clients on matters related to entity formation and operation, the tax and legal structure of business acquisitions and dispositions, corporate finance matters, venture capital funding, and private equity transactions. Pete counsels businesses on multifaceted restructuring and recapitalization transactions involving both debt and equity. He has a deep understanding of financial accounting, as well as business and tax law, which allows him to be creative in finding solutions to otherwise challenging deals. Pete is the firm’s managing partner, serves on the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of Leech Tishman’s Corporate, Taxation and Construction Practice Groups in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
David Lampl is recognized for an eighth year in the Bankruptcy and Creditor – Debtor Rights Law / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation – Bankruptcy categories. David is highly regarded for the major role he has played in numerous local and national high profile cases involving Chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings. Over the course of his career, David has served as lead counsel on behalf of banks, creditors’ committees and debtor companies in a wide variety of complex bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters. David serves as Co-Chair of Leech Tishman’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
Danton Mak is recognized for a fourth year in the Litigation – Patent Law category. Danton is experienced in industry, management and the law. His influence extends beyond the United States, and Hong Kong where he was born and raised, to Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China. Danton’s insight, knowledge, experience and contacts throughout the U.S. and the Far East have proven invaluable to clients seeking to establish ventures or business operations at home or abroad. Prior to joining Leech Tishman in 2014, Danton was a partner at Sheldon Mak & Anderson (“SMA”), a California-based full-service intellectual property law firm. Danton is a member of Leech Tishman’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Los Angeles office and focuses his practice in all aspects of intellectual property.
John Steiner is recognized in the Bankruptcy and Creditor – Debtor Rights Law / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation – Bankruptcy categories. John represents and provides advice and counsel to creditors, debtors, creditors’ committees, lenders, bankruptcy trustees and purchasers of assets in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, state court receiverships and other insolvency proceedings. He also represents and provides advice to both debtors and creditors in out-of-court workouts and restructurings. Over the course of his career, John has represented and assisted numerous creditors in the collection of debts from the filing of actions to obtain judgment, to enforcement and execution. John was lead debtor’s counsel in the successful Chapter 11 reorganization of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Pittsburgh’s professional soccer team, and its stadium, Highmark Stadium. Recently, John was selected to represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Somerset Regional Water Resources, LLC Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case. John serves as Co-Chair of Leech Tishman’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
Alan Towner is recognized for an eighth year in the Copyright Law, Litigation – Intellectual Property, Litigation- Patent, Patent Law and Trademark Law categories. Alan focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. He regularly handles matters including preparing and prosecuting patent, trademark and copyright applications, patentability opinions, patent infringement and validity studies, trademark clearance opinions, patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation, and general intellectual property counseling. Alan began his career as a Patent Examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in mechanical areas of technology. He also has experience as a research associate and patent attorney in the aerospace industry, where he handled diverse technologies including metal alloys, composites and ceramics. In private practice since 1992, Alan has dealt with a broad range of technologies in the chemical, material, medical, mechanical, data storage, electronic devices and nano-technology areas. Alan serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office and is also a member of the Litigation Practice Group.
Wesley Yang is recognized for a sixth year in the Tax Law category. Wesley is well known for his experience in complex corporate and tax law matters. As a tax attorney and Certified Public Accountant, Wesley has more than 40 years of broad experience in estate planning and administration, asset protection planning, corporate and partnership taxation, international taxation, captive insurance companies and management succession planning for closely held businesses. He specializes in the areas of income tax and estate planning for high net worth individuals and owners of closely held businesses. Wesley is Chair of the firm’s Taxation Practice Group. He also practices in the Corporate and Estates & Trusts Practice Groups in Leech Tishman’s Pittsburgh office.
