Leech Tishman recently hosted the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) at its New York office to discuss the latest developments in the China-U.S. trade dispute resolution process.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening the collaboration between the CCPIT Mediation Center and Leech Tishman to offer the firm’s China clients more practical and affordable dispute resolutions. This includes advising on the joint selection of China mediators. Additionally, the meeting emphasized the importance of establishing a strong international legal team with both U.S. and Chinese attorneys and mediators. This team aims to provide more productive dispute resolution services and position themselves to better advise Asian clients conducting business globally.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade was established in 1952. It is a China national agency dedicated to promoting foreign trade, investment, and economic cooperation. The CCPIT Mediation Center (Mediation Center) is a permanent mediation institution that helps parties resolve civil and commercial disputes through mediation. Established in 1987, it has grown to become one of the most influential dispute resolution institutions in the world. The Mediation Center has 42 domestic sub-centers in various regions of China, all applying the same mediation rules guided by the headquarters.
