Sally is well-known in the field of alternative dispute resolution, particularly as an employment dispute mediator, arbitrator and early neutral evaluator. She regularly serves as a mediator, arbitrator and early neutral evaluator for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Sally is a mediator and arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and also provides services as a private mediator. She is also a panel mediator on the UPMC Intermediation Panel. Sally formerly served as a contract mediator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and was a member of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) Panel of Distinguished Neutrals. She also served as President of the Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania for a number of years. In May 2014, the Pennsylvania Bar Association awarded Sally its annual Sir Francis Bacon Dispute Resolution Award in recognition and appreciation for her pioneering efforts to develop and enhance mediation throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her involvement in alternative dispute resolution issues, Sally has over 25 years of experience devoted to counseling and litigating on behalf of private and public sector employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring through termination and is highly regarded for her experience in the areas of employment law and alternative dispute resolution. Sally serves as Chair of Leech Tishman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Employment Practice Groups in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
Sally is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rated Attorney and a member of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers. She has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine for a number of years, and has repeatedly been placed on the publication’s list of the Top 50 Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Pittsburgh’s Top 50 Super Lawyers. In 2015, she was also recognized by Best Lawyer Pittsburgh in the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Labor & Employment Law categories.
