Leech Tishman Partner Sally Griffith Cimini to Chair National Alternative Dispute Resolution Group

Posted on January 9, 2020

PITTSBURGH, PA – January 9, 2020 – Leech Tishman is pleased to recognize Sally Griffith Cimini, Leech Tishman Partner, a national leader in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), as Chair of the firm’s ADR Practice Group. “I am excited to lead the firm’s efforts in the ever-expanding field of ADR while continuing to practice employment and labor law,” stated Sally. “ADR offers parties the opportunity to resolve disputes on their own terms and to avoid the expense, time and stress of litigation.”

As a prominent alternative dispute resolution and employment & labor attorney in the Pittsburgh region, Sally is continuously recognized as a leading mediator, arbitrator and neutral evaluator. The Pennsylvania Bar Association awarded Sally its annual Sir Francis Bacon Dispute Resolution Award in recognition and appreciation for her pioneering efforts to develop and enhance mediation throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 2017, Sally was inducted into the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers (TCLEL) for her expertise and leadership in the fields of ADR and labor and employment law. The Association for Conflict Resolution conferred Advanced Workplace Practitioner status to Sally.

Over the last nine years, Sally has served in various leadership roles within the firm, including Chair of the Employment Practice Group and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. In addition to serving as National Chair of the firm’s ADR Practice Group, Sally will continue to serve the Employment Practice Group as an Emeritus Member.

Sally has also been recognized by her peers in Best Lawyers in America, 2020 in the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Labor & Employment Law categories and as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine (2020) in the ADR and Employment & Labor Categories. She has twice been named as Best Lawyers’ Pittsburgh Mediator of the Year and has repeatedly been included on Super Lawyers’ list of the Top 50 Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Pittsburgh’s Top 50 Super Lawyers.

Sally serves the local ADR community in many capacities, including:

  • U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania (Mediator; Early Neutral Evaluator; Arbitrator)
  • American Arbitration Association (Mediator; Arbitrator)
  • UPMC Intermediation Panel (Panel Mediator)
  • U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (Volunteer Mediator)
  • Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania (Past President; Board Member)
  • Pennsylvania Bar Association ADR Committee (Former Chair)
  • Mediator engaged directly by parties outside of a formal ADR process
  • Internal Conflict Resolution Consultant (e.g., internal workplace disputes, organizational disputes, etc.)

Sally has over 34 years of experience devoted to counseling and litigating on behalf of private and public sector employers. Sally is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated Attorney and a member of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers.

Leech Tishman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Practice Group assists clients in resolving disputes through conflict resolution processes that provide alternatives to traditional federal and state court judicial and jury proceedings. The firm’s ADR attorneys serve as professional neutrals (mediators, arbitrators and early neutral evaluators) and counsel the firm’s clients as skilled ADR advocates in all forms of these dispute resolution processes. The ADR group is engaged in designing, training and implementing internal conflict resolutions processes for employers and organizations, and assisting in resolving conflict between employees, executives, business partners and shareholders, and corporate entities.

“Alternative dispute resolution has always been a cornerstone of Sally’s legal practice and career,” said Pete Fuscaldo, managing partner of Leech Tishman. “As ADR has continued to grow in popularity, so has our ADR legal practice. Sally is certainly a leader in the field of alternative dispute resolution; we are most fortunate to have Sally’s guidance and skill-set at the heart of this practice.”
