Leech Tishman Partner Steve D. Irwin recently wrote an article about “banning the box,” referring to the check box that often appears on job applications asking if applicants have a criminal record.
In his article, “How not to hire: Ban the box,” which was published by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette, Steve encourages employers not to ask about criminal history before even considering a candidate.
