PITTSBURGH, PA – November 22, 2022 – On Friday, November 18, 2022, Leech Tishman’s Pittsburgh, PA office participated in the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Distribution Event. A group of Leech Tishman employees volunteered to package a variety of non-perishable food items to help provide holiday meals for over 900 families in need.
The Urban League’s program was made possible with community partners including Giant Eagle, who donated non-perishable goods and gift certificates, IKEA, who donated food bags, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, who donated fresh produce, and The University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute, who provided the meal recipients with free health screenings.

A Thanksgiving Distribution is an annual festive food distribution and health fair hosted by the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Those who attend ATD receive a wide variety of non-perishable food items to complement their holiday meal. As part of the event, there is also a Health Care & Human Services Village offering many other services such as free flu shots and health screenings; no-cost vision exams; opportunities to connect with health research professionals and local social service organizations; and access to a hat, glove, and sock giveaway.
