WILMINGTON, DE – November 3, 2022 – Leech Tishman is pleased to announce the addition of a new attorney to the firm, Jeffrey M. Carbino. Carbino has joined the firm as Counsel in the Business Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group. With over 30 years of experience in bankruptcy, insolvency, corporate reorganization, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation, Carbino will oversee the firm’s Wilmington, DE operations and will also practice out of Leech Tishman’s Philadelphia, PA office.
Leech Tishman’s Business Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group (BRI) is well-respected, both regionally and nationally, as a major force in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. The BRI Group assists corporate clients in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcies, state court receiverships, liquidations and other insolvency proceedings, out-of-court workouts, and restructurings in major financial hubs and jurisdictions across the nation, including Wilmington, DE, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and more.
Carbino regularly represents debtors, landlords, creditors’ committees, utility companies, licensors, real and personal property lessors, directors and officers, and other secured and unsecured creditors in national Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and restructurings outside bankruptcy. He has defended 100s of secured and unsecured creditors in preference and fraudulent transfer actions in bankruptcy proceedings.
Carbino has a wealth of experience in advising Fortune 500 companies, national banks, and financial institutions. He has represented lenders in negotiating and documenting secured loans, unsecured loans, and securitized credit facilities and in working out troubled domestic and foreign loans. Carbino has also represented agents in complex multi-lender and syndicated loans. He has drafted substantive consolidation, enforceability, and other opinions on behalf of his clients.
Outside of the bankruptcy court, Carbino represents lenders in negotiating and documenting secured and unsecured loans, drafting inter-creditor agreements, opinion letters, and in working out distressed loans including representing the agent in multi-lender loans. He has also counseled institutional and other creditors in exercising their state law rights in foreclosure and replevin actions and obtaining the appointment of a receiver in various federal and state courts, including the Delaware Court of Chancery. Carbino has represented clients in the all the state courts in Pennsylvania, including the Court of Common Pleas, Family Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
