Esteban J. Elias, Partner and Head of Leech Tishman’s Latin America Practice, was recently featured on Radio Universo’s Universo Emprendedor program, where he discussed his work advising Latin American startups seeking to enter and grow in the U.S. market. The interview was later highlighted in an Ecosistema Startup article examining Elias’ work with startups, venture capital funds, and family offices operating between Latin America and the United States.
In the interview, Elias highlights key considerations for startups entering the U.S., including financing structures, commercial contracts, intellectual property and brand protection, compliance, and coordination with counsel in Latin America.
Elias also discussed why Fort Lauderdale serves as a strong base for Latin American founders entering the U.S. market, pointing to its geographical and cultural proximity to Latin America and lower operating costs compared with markets such as New York.
