As we continue our 30 Years, 30 Stories series, we recognize that a strong, interconnected, collaborative workforce has been at the heart of our success and growth. Over a decade ago, we organized a biannual retreat experience for our attorneys, meant to foster relationship-building and strategic collaboration across offices and practice groups. Post-pandemic, this grew into an all-employee experience, and was officially coined “ELEVATE.”
In 2024, we hosted our first all-firm retreat outside of our headquarters in Pittsburgh, inviting the entire firm to Washington, D.C., where we held two major networking events at the landmark Sequoia restaurant and International Spy Museum. We also welcomed guests with an exciting presentation by Afterburner, participated in a city-wide scavenger hunt through Watson Adventures, and hosted meaningful practice group meetings.
These experiences have been invaluable in boosting morale and building connections. As we look to plan our next firmwide retreat in 2026, we’re excited about the challenge of topping this year’s ELEVATE retreat (though we think that might be tough!)
