As a Partner at the firm, Bruce is well-respected for his experience with foreign matters, having spent over five decades assisting international corporate clients with issues including regulatory compliance, cross-border transactions, and corporate transactions.

Bruce was recently elected as President of Avrio Advocati, an international organization of law firms. Bruce is responsible for oversight of the organization’s operations and recruitment efforts, working to expand their international network as well as elevate Leech Tishman’s international presence.

With more than 20 years of experience advising clients on cross-border corporate and transactional matters, Esteban has developed a sophisticated understanding of the legal and business issues facing companies operating throughout Latin America and the United States. He regularly represents companies, investors, venture capital funds, and family offices in mergers and acquisitions, growth financings, joint ventures, and U.S. market entry strategies.

A native of Chile, Esteban serves as Head of the firm’s Latin America Practice and works closely with clients navigating complex transactions between the U.S. and Latin America. He has represented clients in significant venture capital financings, acquisitions, mergers, and cross-border investments involving Chile, Mexico, and other key Latin American markets.

In addition to his legal practice, Esteban has served as a law professor at Universidad Central de Chile and has held leadership roles with several national and international tennis organizations.

Born in Tanzania, Africa, and having lived abroad in places including London and Dubai, Irfan brings a unique cultural perspective to complex international matters. He has extensive experience with Pan-African deals and worked on numerous transactions in Dubai during the real estate boom and bust period between 2008 and 2012.

After returning to the U.S. in 2021, Irfan joined Leech Tishman, where he has worked on a number of international projects, including a $1 million SaaS Agreement with a Saudi Arabian government-funded hospital, from initiation through closing.

As a corporate attorney, Marshall has primarily assisted international clients in Southeast Asia, China, Mexico, and Europe with complex commercial contracts and supply and distribution matters.

He previously represented a U.S.-based client in the initial stages of a multi-billion-dollar telecommunications acquisition, as well as represented a U.S. distributor of hardware and electronic products and it’s Mexico-based subsidiary to expand sales and operations.

Marshall also has international experience with joint ventures and intellectual property matters.

As a member of both the China Practice Team and the International Energy Deals Team, Laurel has extensive experience with international regulatory compliance and transactional matters.

As part of her involvement with the China Practice Team, Laurel has assisted clients with a variety of legal issues, including criminal defense litigation.

Additionally, the International Energy Deals Team recently closed a large, complex domestic matter for a U.S.-based company with offices in Eastern Europe, Poland, Israel, Germany, and the UAE.

With a primary focus in commercial real estate matters, Thomas has worked with several foreign companies conducting business in the U.S., most notably facilitating the lease and investment of a well-known Manhattan hotel for a company based in Switzerland.

Primarily, Thomas’ practice focuses on real estate matters including commercial mortgages and leases for properties located in New York and Connecticut.

Primarily working in the area of international trademarks, Alan has extensive experience with complex foreign intellectual property matters and best practices. He oversees the trademark portfolios for clients in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, Europe, South America, and Australia.

Alan also assists foreign clients with licensing deals, both for companies looking to utilize another company’s intellectual property and for companies interested in leveraging their licenses to manufacturers.

On the non-practicing side, Alan has served as Chair of the International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, was a member of the Executive Committee for the State Bar of California International Law Section, and was a U.S. Trademark Law Speaker for an International Bar Association convention in Cancun, Mexico.

Bill, who is from Puerto Rico, has dedicated his career to working with Spanish speaking clients on domestic and international corporate and business matters.

Before joining Leech Tishman, he was a Partner and member of the Latin American practice of an international law firm as well as General Counsel of a New York based private investment group with diversified holdings, including hospitality and gaming businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean.   As a complement to his bilingual skills, Bill uses his international background, along with his law firm and in-house experience, to bridge the legal, business, and cultural gaps that often arise in cross-border transactions.

Bill recently represented the producer of a three-day game series between two rival Dominican baseball teams held at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets, attended by almost 100,000 fans.

Additionally, Bill is a member of the firm’s International Energy Deals Team.

As Leader of the firm’s Immigration Group, Cristina represents both companies and individuals with complex immigration and labor & employment matters. Because immigration issues touch virtually all areas of law, she has had the unique opportunity to collaborate with every practice group and industry group within the firm. Additionally, Cristina is a member of the firm’s China Practice Team Immigration Sub-Committee.

Cristina regularly assists CEOs, high-level executives, managers, and investors within foreign companies who are interested in establishing a U.S. footprint or working for a U.S. subsidiary. She analyzes their international businesses and backgrounds to develop a legal strategy tailored to their unique circumstances.

Recently, Cristina collaborated with Partner Alexander J. Gase in assisting a U.K.-based company with establishing a subsidiary in the U.S. and transferring essential employees and members of their executive team to the U.S. branch.

With over 43 years of experience in the international corporate space, Ted has amassed a breadth of knowledge with regard to employment litigation, breach of contract, distribution, cross-border transactions, and trademark infringement.

Ted serves as General Counsel for several Japanese companies who are headquartered both in Japan and in the U.S., providing him with a unique ability to navigate the cultural differences within domestic and foreign legal systems.

Additionally, Ted represents clients based in France, Switzerland, and Greece who conduct business in the U.S.

Joy brings a wealth of international experience to the firm, where she serves as Leader of the China Practice Team. Her practice focuses mainly on China and Asia-related international business matters, where she prioritizes business development and international network growth.

Joy assists clients in a number of areas, including China, India, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, South Africa, and a number of European countries, including Switzerland.

Joy is involved with a number of international organizations, including the China Sichuan Bar Assocation, where she has been named Lead International Lawyer (an accolade awarded to fewer than 100 attorneys annually,) as well as Sichuan University, where she serves as a member of the Alumni New York Executive Committee.
