Elisabeth St. Blaise McCarthy is a trusts and estates attorney with more than 40 years of experience focusing on nonprofit organizations and related tax matters. She advises individuals and charitable organizations on estate planning, trust administration, the establishment of charitable gifts, and tax issues arising under federal and state law. Elisabeth serves as Co-Chair of the Trust & Estates Practice Group.
Elisabeth works closely with nonprofit organizations ranging from private foundations to large charitable institutions, including hospitals and organizations dedicated to social services, animal welfare, and the arts. She also represents a diverse group of individual clients, including artists, musicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs, and other professionals.
Elisabeth has successfully represented clients in numerous estate and gift tax audits, achieving significant tax savings. She has also secured approvals for various applications on behalf of several public and private charitable organizations.
Outside of her practice, Elisabeth is a frequent lecturer on charitable giving and estate planning.
