Julia Wu is an Associate in Leech Tishman’s Corporate and Real Estate practice groups. Julia is based in Leech Tishman’s Pittsburgh office where she focuses her practice in the areas of corporate, business and real estate law.
Julia represents and advises a variety of clients in an array of matters ranging from entity formation and asset protection to exit strategies. She has helped advise privately held businesses in the various stages of acquisition and divestment and has performed due diligence matters in preparation of the investment and sale. Julia also has experience in reviewing and drafting various types of contracts including non-disclosure agreements, buy-sell agreements, commercial leases, and shareholder agreements.
On the real estate side, Julia represents landowners, real estate developers and entrepreneurs in real estate matters including negotiating, drafting, analyzing and administering commercial lease agreements, amendments and buildout agreements for retail, warehouse and office use. She drafts and coordinates execution of estoppel certificates, subordination, attornment and non-disturbance agreements. Julia also regularly analyzes and drafts mortgages, promissory notes and closing documents. She provides counsel on various aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, including due diligence analysis, and is familiar with local real estate regulations and ordinances regarding land use and zoning variances.
During the course of her career, Julia has also practiced in the areas of civil litigation as well as family law and estate litigation, where she specialized in counseling high-net-worth individuals and small business owners. Julia’s experience in these various areas of litigation provides her with an understanding of a corporate client’s needs, such as corporate formation, contract provisions and succession of family-owned businesses, including the growth and succession of privately owned businesses.
