Mikhail Lezhnev is Counsel in Leech Tishman Robinson Brog’s Estates & Trusts and Tax Practice Groups. He is also a member of the Emerging Cyber Technologies Industry Group. Mikhail is based in the firm’s New York office, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, estate administration, and taxation.
Mikhail counsels high-net-worth individuals and private businesses concerning estate planning as well as related corporate law and tax law. He also advises clients concerning the tax implications of cryptocurrency.
In his estate planning practice, Mikhail advises on and drafts wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, LLC operating agreements, and asset protection trusts as well as amendments and decantings of irrevocable trusts. He has also counseled on international estate planning and international estate administration.
Mikhail’s experience in tax law has included matters concerning corporate contributions, distributions, stock and asset acquisitions, liquidations, tax-free mergers, and international tax planning. He has also represented and counseled clients in income/estate tax audits before the IRS, state tax departments, and the IRS Appeals Office. Mikhail’s other matters have involved compensation tax planning, and tax compliance of international assets and entities.
