Steven B. Eichel is a Partner in Leech Tishman Robinson Brog’s Business Restructuring & Insolvency and Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Groups. Steven is based in the firm’s New York office, where he focuses his practice on real estate-related bankruptcies, bankruptcy litigation, corporate restructuring, and commercial law matters.
Steven’s practice crosses diverse corporate sectors, such as retail, supermarkets, hospitality, waste management, manufacturing, securities, recreation, and real estate. He has extensive experience representing large Chapter 11 debtors, including Safety-Kleen Corp., Levitz Furniture, Refco, Great American Recreation, and Winn-Dixie Stores, which was named the “Mega Turnaround of the Year” by Turnaround Management Association in 2007.
For more than 30 years, Steve has represented asset purchasers, officers and directors, employees, trustees, creditors’ committees, lenders, landlords, tenants, special servicers, debtors, and secured and unsecured creditors in complex reorganization and liquidation cases in various courts throughout the country. He has litigated multi-million dollar disputes, defended creditors in preference and fraudulent transfer litigations, and represented clients in commercial law matters.
Steve advises corporate debtors in financial distress and helps creditors seeking to protect their rights in transactions with financially troubled companies.
