Leech Tishman is pleased to welcome attorney Wakaba Tessier to the firm as Partner in the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group.
Wakaba focuses her practice on minimizing risks for healthcare providers by ensuring their compliance with federal and state requirements. She advises a wide range of healthcare providers and organizations, including physician groups, hospitals and health systems, specialty pharmacies and infusion providers, clinical laboratories, behavioral health providers, home health agencies, telemedicine companies, healthcare-related start-ups, research institutions and higher education, and others.
Wakaba also advises on privacy laws, health information confidentiality, data breaches, mental health records, and cross-state recordkeeping and data transfers. Wakaba is licensed in Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri and splits her time between the Chicago office and her home in Kansas.
Effective September 2, 2025, Wakaba will join Leech Tishman’s Chicago team, operating out of the firm’s Loop office on Washington Street. The combination will bring Leech Tishman’s team to over 140 lawyers and more than 240 total personnel, operating in eight major markets across the country.
